Top Ten Hardest Things About Owning A Poptropica Blog

Hey guys, it’s me, Smart Flame!  Poptropica is a special place, and so is its community.  We have several blogs and youtube channels created by dedicated fans.  And everyone helps everyone grow in the community.  Us bloggers want to give good posts to the people who support us along our journey.  But getting out good posts and continuing our blogs is certainly not for the faint-hearted.  Getting views and followers is tough and I’m here to show everyone what I think are 10 of the hardest challenges Poptropica bloggers face. So without further ado, let’s get on with the post!

#10: Advertising
You may read this and think Advertising? How’s that a challenge!  This is a challenge because if you over advertise people start to become less likely to clink your link, thinking you’re just view-hungry.  But, if you don’t advertise at all, you must rely on a pretty loyal fan base to get support.  I would suggest to  advertise on 1-2 servers, 3 at most on Discord, and if you have Twitter, Tweet it.

#9: Creativity
This is a challenge that I relate to currently.  When creating a series it needs to be creative and original, and despite my love for all of our Pop Blogs, originality is hard to come by.  I struggle putting out original twists on news stories, and putting out good series’s.

#8: Pop News
You might be asking yourself How is this a challenge?  It’s more content to post! It’s more content to post if you pounce on it like a tiger.  Poptropica News is hard because, after the first four posts on the news, people stop reading those posts.  Your best bet is to be as quick as you can when posting it.

#7: The Baby Phase
This is the phase where your blog has 20 – 30 followers and 1,000 – 3,000 hits.  This is the hardest phase to pass because so many blogs are at this phase.  This is the point where many blogs are deleted because it’s hard to get new people to add to your group of followers. Few blogs ever break through this phase, and many blogs, even if they’re still active stay in this phase.  That is where this blog is currently.  If you can break through this phase, just know, you’re doing something right.  But, don’t be like, Well, my blog’s in the baby phase, will it get out?!  You don’t have to worry, because if you persevere and keep improving your posts, you will make it out.

#6: Regular Posting
Posting regularly is essential for blogs in The Baby Phase, because if you go awhile without posting, the people who will make or break your chance at survival start to not look at your blog.  It’s hard with busy schedules and lives, to put out quality content that doesn’t feel rushed.

#5: Ideas
Blog post idea’s are hard to come up with, if not already made by another blogger.  You want to keep it interesting, while still being informative.  You want it to be structured yet fun.  My golden rule is if it’s a post you wouldn’t read, don’t post it.  If it’s fine by you, you know it’s fine, because you are the hardest judge on yourself, so if it meets your standards someone will surely enjoy it.

#4: Contests
I love holding contests but they’re hard to work with.  Many times in blogs you’ll see contests that suddenly disappear.  The main reason typically why this happens is not enough entrees into the contest.  Therefore the blogger longer sees it fit to hold a contest with two people in it.  Now larger blogs may not find this a problem.  The greatest way to get the most people in your contests, is don’t do many, because people might get bored of them, and less entrees enter.  Also, get your fans excited about the contest, and give them a long time to create entrees.

#3: Blog’s Design
This is more of a personal one, mainly because I am no designer or artist in the slightest bit, so typically my blog has a very basic look to it.  This is a challenge, because people might assume bad designing or look means a bad blog.  Also, because I’m pretty new to the customization tool, it just is not yet where I’d like it.  For many it isn’t a problem, but it is certainly for me.

#2: The Edge
The edge is basically finding a talent you have, and using it to improve your writing.  Now, it doesn’t have to be a talent, but how you do something that gets people excited or interested.  Fierce Flyers is his drawing, it is fantastic.  Lucky Wing’s her ability just to make posts that are so relatable and funny.  On this blog I’m trying to make and/or find an edge that makes my posts more interesting.

#1: Gaining Views and Followers
This is a very hard task, but especially blogs in the baby phase.  Having “The Edge”  helps you gain views and followers.  This is what can make blogs end, because when they’re in the Baby Phase, their views and followers don’t come as often as they did in the beggining.  I am not going to lie, this is very hard.  Views come by a lot easier, but followers are just a whole new level of difficulty.

I hope you enjoyed these Top Ten Hardest Blog Challenges!  Please tell me in the comments, which do you agree with, which do you disagree with?  That’s all for today’s post, Bye!  ~Smart Flame

Read Between The Lines: Crisis Caverns

Hey Guys! It’s me, Smart Flame!  I have a theory that will change how you view Crisis Caverns!  My theory is that the island is a test to see if you can become a certified park ranger.

I believe they wanted you to first learn how to find stolen property.  Then they wanted you to be able to save people who are unable to save themselves.  Finally the wanted you to learn that you need to do whatever possible in a life-threatening situation, work with other cultures, and to be quick on your feet and wits to know how to escape a situation.

One of the major things that we’re going out on a limb with, is that the two park rangers we saw at the top of the geyser, were actually the mole king and queen.  Also that the cthionians (I hope I spelled that right) are animatronics.

So, what do you think?  Are the park rangers testing all you have, or do the mole queen and king override this theory?  Let me know in the comments!  As you could’ve guessed this is the end of the post.  Bye! ~Smart Flame

Endangered Part 1!

Hey guys, it’s me, Smart Flame! Sorry for not posting in a really long time, but I needed I bit of a break as this week has been really busy for me.  Now I’m back, and I’m ready to kick of the fanfiction series, Endangered!

It all started as a normal hike. A group of young Survival Island Rangers were giving me a tour of the profound cave systems located below the snowy surface of the island. “Totally radical place for hibernating animals dude,” said one of the Rangers whom’s long red hair made him distinguishable in the deep darkness of the caves, I definitely was thinking of all the creatures we could encounter, especially the dangerous ones who could instill great terror upon us if we weren’t careful… And we weren’t. Sly Bear, one of the three rangers giving the tour, started walking backwards as he quizzed me on rock formations and species who called this abyss-like area home, I of course, answered the questions with ease and even added my own facts about hazardous things we could come across, but they never seemed to hear. We had walked for maybe an hour and a half through the caves when I started to hear the noise, I was about ask everyone to stop what they were doing, when someone nudged me, “You sure know your animals Sporty,” It was a girl’s voice so I knew it was Soft Eagle, the ranger who’d been eyeing me strangely before we entered the caves, I shouldn’t have gotten distracted because suddenly the noise returned, even louder this time. “Bear.” I stammered, “What up?” Sly Bear answered sounding completely clueless, I saw the empty, lustrous eyes of exactly what I had feared made that noise and I shrieked, “BEAR!!” My mind went blank when I shoved the Raven-haired ranger out of the way and took a massive blow to the chest, I felt a surge of pain as I skidded across the rocky floor and into a shallow pool of freezing cave water, where I laid in udder shock until my vision faded into black….

I awoke, my body drenched in freezing water.  I looked down, thinking it was a dream until the shadow of a 7 foot beast was laid over my body.  I scooted back with the remaining energy I had left.  I called for the rangers, but they had all left me.  I stayed silent, thinking it would believe I was dead and leave, but it carried on slowly.  I had reached the cave wall, with no other exit in sight.  The bear was standing over me, it’s drool pouring onto my shirt like rain.  Then, a gun shot rang through the cave.  The bear fell down, right beside me.  For a few seconds I felt relief.  I then looked up to find and old man in an Australian hunting outfit.  The man wearing it was old, and bore a long thick greasy mustache.  Embroidered into his clothes were then initials MVB.

That’s all for today, I hope you enjoyed it!  Bye! ~Smart Flame

PBN! Writing Contest Results!

Hey guys! It’s me, Smart Flame!  I have some really exciting news!  Now if you’ve been here quite awhile, you’ll remember that I had constantly asked you guys if I should join the PBN, and everyone said yes, but I never did.  But here I am, telling you that we are now officially apart of the PBN!  If you would like to view their site, you can find on our navigation bar!  This is really amazing, and I’m so happy to apart of the PBN!

Now, after several entries, the winner of the Writing Contest is…………… Sporty Boa, and his story, named Endangered!  This is a really cool story, that I’m excited to be working on!  Thanks to everyone who entered, all of the stories were great, giving me a hard choice.

Now, before anyone read my blog, I wrote a post named Is Crisis Caverns Back On? And, well, it looks like, miraculously, one of my theories were true!  I even thought the worms would make it into it!  Just something cool I found in my blogs history, to be exact, the second day this blog existed!  That’s all for this post, bye! ~Smart Flame

New Graphic! #MyOpposite!

Hey guys!  It’s me, Smart Flame!  If you’re on reader, you can’t see this, but I’ve changed my header, and added a new widget with Graphics from the Creators who sent them out to bloggers!  I tried to insert the blogs logo on it, but my cropping skills are below average, so naturally it failed!

Now I’m going to do the #MyOpposite challenge, which isn’t a challenge, just something I made up.  Yay!  So my opposite is known as Naive Ice (I did this for lack of a better word for dumb).  He loves beans and sausage.  He hates music.  He loves heights.  He is really tall, and loves red.  He hates exploration, and loves the TV.

I hope you enjoyed that very lame paragraph!  Now, if you remember, in like December that Tumblr post made by the creators about getting your blog noticed?  Well I re-read as everyone does (Who was lots of time)  and TPC was mentioned in it!  I don’t know how I missed this the other many times I’ve read it, but that was so cool to me, and I just feel so honored.  Then I started re-reading old posts, and remembered the good old days.  That was when I didn’t care what people thought of, of what I put out.  I was just having fun making all sorts of posts.  So my goal is to bring that back.  To put out posts that were fun.  We will definetly still do news, though.  I remember one post, where I made a theory that Poptropicans were potatoes, and I loved writing (Shout-out to PC for that one!) So were going to make fun theories, stories, and lists, to make this blog more enjoyable.  I’ve noticed those posts got the most views and likes, and I want to bring you guys what you enjoy.  That’s all for today, bye! ~Smart Flame

A Random Sort Of Post

Hey guys!  It’s me, Smart Flame!  Today’s post is just going to show what I’m thinking and doing, because I literally have no idea of a post.

Well, right now, I’m still trying to think of blog post ideas, and if you don’t read this, I was successful, but you’d never know I wrote this.  So my lack of logic is boring you out, and now I have to go for dinner.  But my lack common sense is kicking in, and in honesty I don’t have to tell you this, cause I could just leave, then keep writing, so now I’m left here to consider my being as a person on Earth.

Well, I’m back and LW posted a post with different questions on it, and I will try to answer.  I won’t answer all of them, just a few I picked.  Here’s the post https://luckywingsblogofun.wordpress.com/2017/06/08/list-thing/ Let’s get started!

What if Amelia and the Red Baroness are AU (alternate universe) versions of each other?

I disagree because wouldn’t one of them do the opposite of flying?  Like, The One and Only Walking Red Baroness!  But, flying could have many opposites, it’d just be the most opposite.  That makes me wonder, what is the opposite of Smart Flame.  Maybe we can start a challenge called the AU version of yourself.  Let’s make it popular because I want to make something that other people post about.  I have revealed some of my amazing self-absorption.  So like #AUVersionOfYou or #MyOpposite.  Let’s make it trend.  Next Question!

Who are Betty Jetty and Ned Noodlehead’s parents? Are they divorced?

Betty Jetty and Ned are siblings?  What happened?  Is this real or a theory?  So much confusion!  Who am I?  Where am I?  This is enough because I’m losing my knowledge and life by this.  Next Question!

What species was the Elf Queen?

Well, my best guess is an elf.  I just have a feeling, it just sounds right.  No wait, she’s a human who loves nature because Elf’s are tiny.  I’m proving this wrong with logic, and lack of a better answer.

Cows. Why are they evil?

They’re cows, they’re always evil.

Why doesn’t your Poptropican use stuff he’s/she’s gotten on previous islands? I mean, you have like 4 flashlights right? Wai?!

This is because  we have to empty our backpack after each because it’ll weigh blimp down.  If not, then we’re idiots.

Be honest, did the lady on Ghost Story make you scream?

She did not scare me, because I had watched a Top Ten Best Islands video, after playing all of the islands besides Ghost Story and Virus Hunter, thinking I might not hear about the islands, but they spoiled Ghost Story for me.  Also I cheated on Cryptids by using video guide, because I got lost on the motorbike.  Don’t judge.  Next Question!

How did Dr Hare get out of space? You destroyed his Rabbot and he didn’t have a space suit. So how did he end up on Reality TV?

It’s Dr. Hare.  I need not speak more.

So that’s all, and let’s create the #MyOpposite challenge, bye! ~Smart Flame

After 100,000,000 years…

Helloooo people! It’s FF after, let’s see…. Counts fingers… Oh whatever, let’s just say I’ve been gone for a while. I am aware that Smart Flame already posted a review on Pop Worlds, but I thought it would be nice if you awesome readers could get another opinion on the new and improved Poptropica.

Well… Poptropica Worlds isn’t as bad as I thought it would be, though the lag is out of this world! Who else agrees with me on this? The options aren’t as varied, but on Twitter Poptropica announced that they may add a colorizer, so let’s hope for that! There’s also the thing about losing our original costumes, but hopefully Friendly Foot can gain all her normal outfit items back again… She simply CAN’T be herself without her antlers. So until they release antlers I’m pretty much dead… (Jk!) There’s also the fact that you can’t change your lips after choosing them when choosing your character. But at least I have lips, while others are experiencing a glitch in which their character become “bleachy boy” or “bleachy girl”.

Now enough with the problems, lets get onto the good stuff, shall we? For one, you don’t need flash to play Worlds, and (very minor but still helpful) you can open it on incognito mode, and can also go full screen while playing.

So yep, that’s it folks! Hopefully I won’t go on another major hiatus, but for the next three days I’ll be on a camping trip with my grade, so I won’t be able to go online… Bye Poptropicans! (Below is a picture of the new FF, so different right?)
